Bransle X/ Bransle de Bourgogne

from A Fiddle Album by Nick Pynn

/

about

Two Renaissance tunes by Claude Gervaise. The latter I learnt from Kent folk musician Paul Hurst. Whilst researching it I found the Gervaise arrangement from the 'Troisieme livre de Danceries'which also contained 'Bransle no. X'. A bransle, or branle is a French dance, danced by couples in a line or circle.
